About Me

I am a Brazilian PhD candidate in Community and Regional Planning at the University of Texas at Austin and a Research Associate at the Extreme Weather Adaptation Lab.

My trajectory brings together planning, law, and visual storytelling. I hold a Master of Public Administration with a major in Urban Affairs and Planning from the University of Pittsburgh and a law degree from Universidade Salvador (UNIFACS). Before turning to law and planning, I studied literature at the University of São Paulo (USP) and cinema at the Academia Internacional de Cinema in São Paulo.

Over the past eight years, I have worked with communities, public institutions, and grassroots organizations across Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. This work has shaped my conviction that research should move beyond institutional spaces, support public dialogue, and help make local knowledges, narratives, and collective practices more visible in how cities and territories are imagined and planned.
